Location

Brtonigla is located in the northern part of the Istrian peninsula. It is situated on a hill overlooking the sea to the west. The coast is only 7 km away from Brtonigla.
To the east, the view extends into the interior of Istria towards Grožnjan. North of Brtonigla is Buje. On the way to Buje we find extensive vineyards and olive groves. Towards the south, the view extends over the vineyards near Nova Vas to the mouth of the river Mirna into the sea.
Brtonigla is mainly known for the production of high quality white and red wines and olive oil. The special location and the coincidence of four different types of soil allow the production of the best Istrian wines. Particular attention is paid to the Malvasia. Brtonigla is therefore increasingly known as "4 Terre". The homemade bread is also produced under this name.
Brtonigla is culturally rich. It has many historical and archaeological sites. The tradition of the place can be traced at every step of this beautiful Istrian place.
